"Breezer" entstand im Rahmen einer Forschungsreise für das ICA Institute for Contemporary Arts Sofia, kuratiert von Luchezar Boyadjiev und Iara Boubnova.

The video installation was created for the guest program of ICA Sofia, curated by Luchezar Boyadjiev und Iara Boubnova.

Die Kamera ist beweglich im sandigen Boden installiert. Das gefilmte Motiv verschwindet von Zeit zu Zeit im Sandsturm, die starken Sandböen verunklären und verändern die Farbigkeit der Szene.
Zu sehen sind eine dicke Frau, die regungslos unter einem Sonnenschirm ruht, sowie ihre vier kleinen Foxterrier, die versuchen sich gegen den Wind zu behaupten. Sie schwanken ähnlich labil im Sturm wie die Kamera. Deren Bewegung wird formal durch einen bewegten Bildrahmen ausgeglichen, der das Videobild einerseits stabilisierend umgrenzt, andererseits die unsichere Perspektive der Hunde widerspiegelt.

One sees a corpulent, Buddha- like woman lying on the beach under an umbrella with her four little foxterriers. The perspective of the camcorder is mobile and near to the ground, the filmed motive disappears from time to time due to a sandstorm. The small dogs are as instable as the camcorder and try to hold their ground in the wind. The movement of the camera is formally adjusted by a mobile frame that reflects the unsteady perspective of the dogs. The absurd scene is taken up by the sound: a bulgarian folk-song accompanies the visible. Accordingly to the fading picture (due to the sandstorm) the music is overlayed by the sound of the storm.
