"today formalism" is an ironic reference to the art systems hermeticism and self-referentiality.

The installation "today formalism" consists of a performance, neon lights, objects and a video installation. Performance, selection and installation of works vary and depend on the ambience and architectural situation of the exhibition space.

The video loop shows neon-colored circles and lines that are moved on a black surface and form multifaceted constellations. The poetry of the composition of geometries, colored light and objects creates a peculiar tension. In a black painted alcove, artificial cherry blossoms are backlit by a glaring violet light.
In "today formalism" the artist
cites recent art history, and makes clear that the supposedly formal aesthetic game is not just as harmless to understand as it might seem at first glance. "today formalism" means an ironic game with expectations and misunderstandings. It starts with the offensive reference to a term whose suggestive rationality is contrary to its ambiguity.
The concept also includes a perfomative element: the mediation of the artwork is a congenial part of the installation and draws attention to the mechanisms and
conditions of contemporary art reception.
